Super 8: The successor to Regular 8, Super 8 was introduced in the late 1960s with a larger image area and became the standard.

16mm: Introduced in the 1920s, 16mm film was a ground-breaking format initially adopted by home movie enthusiasts and later became popular with industrial filmmakers and TV news broadcasters.

Silent & Sound Film: Most 8mm and Super 8 films are silent. Unlike regular 8, Super 8 can have a sound strip on the edge of the film. If your Super 8 film has sound, we can also transfer that for you at an additional cost.

50ft Reel: 3” diameter ~ 3 minutes

200ft Reel: 5” diameter ~ 14 minutes

300ft Reel: 6” diameter ~ 21 minutes

400ft Reel: 7” diameter ~ 27 minutes

Your film is scanned frame-by-frame to HD (1440 x 1080) .mp4 files.

We understand that your film can be very old and fragile, requiring special attention. We repair broken splices and can adjust speed, and our equipment performs basic color balance to ensure you get the best possible transfer.

Our team organizes your files chronologically and copies labels from the reels. We are happy to follow any specific organizing requirements you may have.
